MC Flux Celebrates 35 Years With His Favourite Tracks

For 35 years, MC Flux has been a cornerstone of drum and bass, from the reggae sound systems of the 80s to the forefront of the global rave scene. As the voice of choice fro the sets of legends like Fabio, Grooverider, and Goldie, and a resident at iconic events like Moving Shadow’s Voodoo Magic and Ram’s legendary nights at The End, Flux’s career has shaped and celebrated the evolution of the genre.

This Friday, he marks his legacy with a special celebratory show at London’s XOYO, bringing together fans from across generations. To honour this milestone, MC Flux shares a personal selection of tracks that define his journey – a testament to his enduring passion and the timeless energy of drum and bass.

Tickets Available Here.

DJ Krust – Soul In Motion

I first heard this song in Blue Note Hoxton, at the time DJ Bailey played it; from the first time hearing it stuck in my head, this is one for the connoisseurs

Roni Size & DJ Die – Music Box

To me, this track stands out especially the Jungle days at such a primitive time to go between safe haven and Jungle music. Roni Size at his finest.

Dillinja & Mystery – Deep Love

The best of DnB producers to come on the scene. Deep Love does what it says, it’s full to the brim of nothing but deep love. This track even saved one of my relationships.

DJ Pulse – Stay Calm

For those who remember the Paradise Club, I have the fondest memories of DJ Randall (RIP) who mixed this with another track (name of which escapes me) the moment he dropped the mix the whole place exploded, so much so he rewound and played again!

HYDRO – The Zone

The bassline roll gave me goosebumps all up the back of my neck, D&B at its absolute finest.

Mampi Swift – Rebirth

I had never heard DnB like this, Always stands out for me from Skibadee (RIP) playing it, not many tunes make me dance but this did. The build up and drop is amazing.

Inta Warriors – Inta

Inta Natty family! The original was such a success that my vocal was used, the crowd love this one. 24 years old and still timeless!

Lenny Dee Ice – We Are IE

Lenny Dee Ice, game changer, this is when Jungle began. Bassline giving goosebumps, this is when Jungle was born, RIP Lenny Dee.

Deep Blue – Helicopter Tune

My family Moving Shadow Crew, Deep Blue aka 2 Bad Mice. I heard this in the studio before it was released. And I am obsessed with it then just as I am now. It was given to Grooverider as a dubplate; he was the first to have this tune. I recall one time at a Roast; he rewinded it 9 times!! Now that’s gotta be a record for a tune!

Goldie – Angel

Game changer again, Goldie’s Angel; when it came out, it filled me with tears, Jungle at its best!
