The world’s largest and longest running drum & bass festival and the industry’s only genre-exclusive conference join forces once again this summer for another full-spectrum experience that’s perfect for anyone looking to make a career in drum & bass: Beats Evolution Conference (BEC) and Let It Roll
From hands-on masterclasses with some of the brightest minds in the game to shoes-off master-bashes from some of the most respected selectors in the game, Czech Republic will be shaking with 170 science between August 1 – 4 this summer and if you’re interested in getting involved or developing your role in any aspect of the bass music industry, you’d be wise to attend.
Here’s how it’s going to go down…
Weds August 1: The mission commences in Prague’s illustrious art deco venue Roxy. Usually home to some of the heaviest line-ups in the city, on August 1 the entire club complex will be home to a line-up of a different nature as a range of workshops, tutorials, masterclasses and demo listening sessions will launch Beats Evolution Conference 2018.
Full names and labels will be revealed later this month. To give you an idea of the level of acts and brands on hand, in previous years the conference has hosted sessions with everyone from Ivy Lab to Pendulum via dBridge, Marky and A.M.C & Turno while labels on hand for direct demo listening sessions have included Shogun, Viper, Ram, Methlab and Titan. With the level of talent in town for Let It Roll festival, the conference has become renowned for its unique opportunities to learn from, talk to and get to know the most influential people in drum & bass.
Thursday August 2 – Saturday August 4: Beats Evolution Conference then moves to Milovice airbase where it host its own arena for three days at Let It Roll. Complementing the festival’s famously full nocturnal line-ups, BEC’s full daytime schedule of activities offers inspiration, more hands-on education and more chances to interact with some of drum & bass’s most prominent, technically skilled and heavyweight artists.
From live interviews with some of the biggest headliners (where fans can ask questions directly) to demo sessions, thought-provoking panels and more masterclasses, BEC’s presence at the festival provides a stimulating balance that galvanises Let It Roll’s position well beyond rave status. As the biggest genre-focused gathering, Let It Roll celebrates its responsibility and the opportunities that can be created when tens of thousands of the genre’s most clued-up fans and hundreds of its most critical contributors and industry insiders are together in one decommissioned airfield. Not just a party, but a vehicle for drum & bass’s future health. As we’ve said already, if you have any ambition to work in this music at any level, in any capacity then Beats Evolution Conference and Let It Roll are a unique opportunity for you to make that happen.
And in case you need any further reason to attend, here’s the latest Let It Roll line-up…. And there are still more acts to be announced later this month!
