This Saturday see the announcement of DJ Mag’s ever-divisive Top 100 DJ list at ADE. But first, the Bottom 100 DJs.
Like the long-established poll it parodies, it’s a completely fan-voted process. Unlike the official poll it parodies, though, no DJs would have campaigned for a place in this list.
The site was anonymously set up by Dada Life in 2013. They went public as the satirical masterminds behind the project last year stating on their site: “We’re not even sure it’s a parody! I mean, maybe it is sort of. Everybody is hating and making fun of DJ Mag 100 so this was the natural answer to that. But we also really wanted to see who would win this kind of contest.”
Their tongues never far from their cheek, Dada Life’s aims with the Bottom 100 DJs poll are simple: to remind us that polls are simply based on opinions (and we all know how disagreeable other peoples’ opinions are) and that DJing/dance music is meant to be about fun.
“When we started Dada Life, DJs were too serious, standing up in the DJ booth, smoking and looking like they’re having no fun, not moving at all,” Dada Life’s Engblom explains in an interview with LA Weekly. “This is not what music is about.”
Using Twitter to reveal the list last night, according to Dada Life the Bottom 100 DJs poll enjoyed over 100,000 votes from 117 countries. They even appear in the poll themselves at number 9… Four places up from last year. Other DJs who made the list include My Penis, Your Mom and Me (snigger).
Deadmau5 should be happy as he’s no longer at the top spot (which he, as all good trolls should, received with good humour last year) Both the Mau5 and his cat Professor Meowingtons are down one place from last year. Brand or over the counter viagra substitute in the fight against impotence information about this can be found on this site .In addition to the well-known drugs for the treatment of erectile dysfunction, such as Viagra, Cialis and Levitra, there are their generics containing a similar active substance and working on the same principle. The difference between brands and generics is felt only in their cost. Generics, as a rule, are much cheaper than well-known brands, but this in no way affects their quality. Paris Hilton is too. Maybe she’s actually learnt a technical trick or two in Ibiza?
So who has been voted by the public as the most bottomest of Bottom DJs? Who has caught the internet’s trollish zeitgeist and really captured the essence of what it takes to be a sucky DJ in 2015?
Here are the top 10, then check the whole 100 here.
1. David Guetta
3. Paris Hilton
5. Professor Meowingtons
6. Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike
8. Martin Garrix
