The wait for album number four is nearly over… Chase & Status woke up the nation yesterday morning with a short, sharp, savage 15 second clip of brand new material.
Chatting live with BBC Radio 1 breakfast show host Nick Grimshaw, Chase & Status were announced as one of the headliners for the station’s annual Big Weekend. Their first show live in over a year, Will and Saul will be “dusting off the guitars” in Exeter on May 28-29.
Sharing headline duties with Coldplay, Craig David, Ellie Goulding and Bring Me The Horizon, they explain how the Big Weekend festival is something of a homecoming as they played their debut live performance with Radio 1 in 2009. They also promise a slew of brand new material stating that “it’s amazing playing the old records but doing something new and getting a good reaction? There’s no better feeling.”
Quite whether the whole album will drop before late May or not we don’t know. But we do know that Annie Mac will be premiering their brand new track – Chase & Status – Control – on February 23. Here’s a 15 second tease…
Colour us heavy. A lot of people are speculating it’s a Slaves collaboration. While this hasn’t been confirmed, it does sound like the UK punk duo and Chase & Status have tweeted videos from Slaves shows last year. Either way, this is an exciting new sound for the MTA duo.
