Electronic music elite unite for an important cause: Rave For Refugees

December 8 and December 15: Over two nights Brixton Electric will be home to some of the biggest names in electronic music for two exceptional and very special events: Rave For Refugees.

The party title says it all: enjoy a night out with some of the best names in electronic music and know that your £15 goes to a dedicated and much needed cause: Help Refugees, an organisation established last year in response to the humanitarian crisis in Calais.

Chase & Status, Shy FX, Rudimental, Sigma, Faithless, Jon Hopkins, Skream, Eats Everything, Daphni have all signed up to perform over the two dates.

“We are incredibly proud to be supporting the charity Help Refugees in their formidable effort to help the plight of thousands of refugees around the world. Rave for Refugees is an amazing chance for the music industry to come together and support a much needed cause through two amazing club nights.”  Chase & Status

“We’re extremely humbled to be part of such a great event for an amazing charity. It’s incredible to see the industry rally behind such an important issue as this. We hope this helps encourage others to support Rave for Refugees. NO HUMAN IS ILLEGAL.” SIGMA

Nail on the head: no human is illegal. And while world politics and mainstream media continue to use migration as a scarily divisive and crude tool, in reality an estimated 63.5 million men, women and children are suffering displacement and living in conditions no human should experience.

Since establishing in September 2015 Help Refugees has been dedicated to improving the conditions and future for all refugees in Europe. This includes food, shelters, sanitation and medical supplies but also education, vocational and language skills. See their website for more information.

All proceeds from Rave For Refugees will go directly into this work to ensure the number of displaced individuals are helped onto a better, safer life. Here are the full event details. Both look amazing if we’re honest. See you there.
