Circus Records co-founder Flux Pavilion has finally confirmed the release date, title and more collaborators for his long-awaited debut album.
Flux Pavilion – Tesla will land on September 4 and will feature classic electro don Arthur Baker, hip-hop legends Soulsonic Force, Florence & The Machine’s Isa The Machine and Sub Focus and Drumsound & Bassline Smith collaborator Tom Cane.
Speaking to Billboard, Flux states…
“Tesla is a project I have been waiting to write since I started Flux Pavilion. One thing I love about music is how it makes me feel, and that’s what I want to capture with this record — a record that doesn’t strictly sound like you would expect, but makes you feel like you are listening to a Flux record.”
These are sentiments he’s shared on this very site in the past both on this very early hype piece last summer and, more recently, this extensive Q&A.
Early sounds from Flux Pavilion – Tesla range from classic Flux swagger jam International Anthem and the more trap-minded, Riff Raff-fronted Who Wants To Rock. With this breadth he’s left some pretty broad doors of expectation open and we can’t wait to hear more. A full Tesla tour is to be confirmed imminently.
This means the tail end of the sunny season is looking very tasty for big bass albums: Flux Pavilion – Tesla should land just a week after Nero’s equally anticipated LP Between II Worlds which is due August 28. We’re not ones to wish the summer away, but both of these documents can’t drop soon enough.
