Just weeks after receiving his MBE knighthood (and days after dropping a killer 60 Minutes Of Drum & Bass mix for MistaJam) Goldie tears into a new year with another innovative, creative project.
Introducing ARTA, a unique app that celebrates, nurtures and pays homage to the Metalheadz founder’s first love: Graffiti writing.
Five years since conception, three years to develop and build alongside respected graffiti documentarian Henry Chalfont, ARTA (Art Rail Transit Authority) is ready to launch this summer and will provide users an authentic moving subway backdrop for writers – both budding and established – to paint and upload their designs on. Not only that, but it will also connect crews and individuals with a mind to discuss, develop, collaborate and compete. The app will also have a function to create your own portfolio and its own radio station. Unique colour fills and tag priority will also be available to those who get involved first.
Now Goldie’s keen to build the ARTA community and give users the control to contribute and help them launch the project with a crowdfunding campaign which comprises a range of limited merch and a summer event that will feature the legendary New York TATs Cru, DJ MK and plenty more to be revealed in due course.
As with any of Goldie’s previous creative endeavours, ARTA is one of a kind and seems really interesting. For more details on how to get involved, allow the man himself to fill you in on the finer points…
