Last night Colorado-based funk supremo Kill Paris took to Facebook with an announcement that will please all ears… He’s finished his debut album: Kill Paris – Galaxies Between Us.
Stating how much he loves his fans and, in-keeping with his heavily publicised and well practiced ethos on free-beats, the album won’t cost us a penny.
Previously signed to OWSLA, Kill Paris will be delivering Galaxies Between Us on his own imprint Sexy Electric. It will be the first full length project on the label. In a previous UKF interview Paris – real name Corey Baker – explained the spirit of Sexy Electric like this…
“The whole idea is to push new artists we feel are doing something unique. People who I feel have the same approach as me… I don’t want to make something that sounds like other people. Why put time into something you’re not personally passionate about? I do music so I don’t have to do a real job. If I’m busy trying to sound like someone else then that’s a real job. I just want to have fun and be creative and do something that means something to me. Sexy Electric is an aspiration of mine and I’ll never lose focus of what’s inspired me to do this. Everything will be totally free, too. You don’t have to give up anything to get the music.”
Having previously supported freshness from the likes of Alma and Bee’s Knees, Paris will now take the Sexy Electric spotlight with Galaxies Between Us. Release date: April 14. Bring it on.
