We have a winner…
Last July we joined forces with Native Instruments and Shogun Audio to host a unique production competition. Highlighting his one-of-a-kind, live performance – in which no laptops, no backing tracks and no fakery were involved whatsoever – Shogun Audio’s technology-obsessed producer Icicle created a project of samples and elements exclusively for this contest.
Designed and optimised for use on Native Instruments’ Maschine Studio – the hub that brings his Entropy Live shows together – the contest was set up to explore and encourage Maschine users’ own creativity. We weren’t disappointed.
However there could only be one winner: Ukraine-based D&B producer M1te.
Referencing Icicle’s sparse stark technique, while coming on strong with a swinging sub-laden funk of his own, M1te has delivered a production that rolls with restrained weight and presence… And leaves you wanting more.
