Listen: Nero – The Thrill

nero - the thrill

NERO ARE BACK! Having teased us with a time and date on Monday, the trio punctually delivered their first track since last summer’s Satisfy live on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show.

Nero – The Thrill is a swaggering guitar and synth heavy cut that you can imagine slaying huge festival crowds, it shows the band in a more reflective, anthemic mood. And it sounds like this…

Dan spoke to Annie live on air, explaining how the band have always “straddled the line” between the anthemic and darker, dancefloor vibes. He also went on to explain how they had no idea how well Satisfy would go down… But it didn’t affect or influence the direction of their album. Which is definitely en route…

“I can tell you the album is finished,” he stated. “We’re not saying more than that, but it’s done and it’s coming soon… Our fans have been so patient. We’re so honoured to have such a fanbase.”

You can hear the full interview – and Annie play Nero – The Thrill twice – here for the next four weeks.

  • Hopefully this is just a single and not reflective of the sound the rest of the album will have… Satisfy was far better

  • Personally enjoyed it, certainly different but good. Hoping for at least 1-2 dubstep tracks though
