RL Grime, What So Not, Skrillex… The only way this is going to get more heavyweight is if Darude jumped on with a remix.
With a three year back story, yesterday the premiership bass trio finally gave fans what they’ve been waiting for. We weren’t disappointed…
Hooky, heavy and helped along with a little floaty magic, you can hear all three artist’s sounds working together to create something that swoons and screwfaces in equal measure and is no doubt going to be as heavily supported as RL Grime and What So Not’s massive 2014 trap anthem Tell Me.
Waiting was actually written during the same session as Tell Me back in 2013 (when What So Not was still a duo) but they shelved it until the time / situation / collaborator came along. Cue Skrillex this summer when the three found themselves between tours in LA at the same time. Adding the final touches to what’s previously existed as a highly popular ID request in RL Grime’s and What So Not’s sets, Waiting was finally elevated from comment thread hype to real life (and named in honour of the eagle eared fans who’ve been demanding it for so long).
