It’s safe to say that ADE was immense this year. Maybe even more so than its usual high standard.

Stories continue to unfold from the Dutch mega-conference by the hour as more delegates come back down to reality, but this one has to be our favourite so far…

The OWSLA crew hosted a party from a 75 foot crane with the label boss Skrillex going back to back with the likes of Noisia and What So Not. The event was streamed at the time and now for those of us who missed it, it’s surfaced on Soundcloud… Complete with an explosive finale: A 2012 collaboration between Skrillex & Knife Party that was never completed.

If you’re too eager to hear it, jump straight to the 2h.36m minute towards the very end; you can’t miss it. One, because Skrillex intros it personally and two; it’s a savage breakbeat-based stomper coded with serious energy with both party’s signature sounds in full stabby glory. (You can also hear foundational traces of Skrillex and Boys Noize’s Dogblood project, too)

Unfortunately only the first section is dropped before he segues into the classic True Gangsters and talks about needing a pee (crane nests aren’t known for their toilet facilities) but to be honest, this entire set needs checking as all selectors go in deep and span all genres and rifle out IDs like it’s training day on the shooting range.

Check out the full set here, the fastidious 1001Tracklists community have done some good detective work here.
