Listen/Watch: The Prodigy – Wild Frontier

The prodigy - wild frontier

Another week, another fix of freshness from The Prodigy as we career closer and closer to the highly anticipated release of their sixth studio album The Day Is My Enemy.

Debuted last night on Zane Lowe’s BBC Radio 1 show, The Prodigy – Wild Frontier sees the band embrace their white-knuckle rave roots with a brutal breakbeat groove peppered with dense layers of synth leads and counter-leads and gritty, sweat-inducing distorted guitars on the fills. Fronted with an aggy, dangerously hooky vocal chant, if you’ve had the pleasure of seeing the band perform, you can instantly envision this being slammed down in a live scenario.

This one comes complete with a really cool animated video from Dutch director Mascha Halberstad. Continuing the fox-friendly theme of the album’s artwork and the last two track’s visual narratives, Mascha explores  the blurred lines between the hunters, the hunted and the unlucky individuals caught in the crossfire. Matching the music with alarm and arrest, once again The Prodigy smash it and leave us wanting more. Mercifully we only have weeks left to wait…

The Prodigy – The Day Is My Enemy is out March 30 on Take Me To The Hospital/Cooking Vinyl. Full release and pre-order details.
