New label hype!
Following the success of Set It, My Nu Leng and FineArt (the bassline-driven alter ego alias of drum and bass premiereship DJ Friction) have now paired up once again to work on something a little more substantial: Maraki Records.
“We are very excited to bring Maraki Records to the world – a platform to release new music from ourselvesand to support the new and exciting talent we’ve been supporting in our DJ sets. It’s all about fresh musicwith both integrity and big bass-lines. Music for the floor. Enjoy!”
The label will launch with FineArt’s In Too Deep EP. A three-track affair it comprises FineArt’s title track plus two major league collaborations with My Nu Leng (Border) and Taiki Nulight (BN1). The full EP will be available on April 7 but you can expect audio as soon as March 24.
With full focus on the darker bass end of house music (and we suspect a fair few broken beats in the mix, too) Maraki looks set to capture the current melting pot that’s happening right now between bass, garage, and house. If FineArt’s previous runaway smashers such as Ruffneck and Don’t Wanna Rush are anything to go by, In Too Deep is going to launch the label with the serious statement intent both acts are renowned and respected for.
Watch out for more details very soon…
