Phace & Signal kick 2018 off with two massive collaborations on NEU

Following last month’s successful launch with Synergy’s gritty funk riots Hypnosis / Dune, Phace & Misanthrop’s NEU imprint continues into the new year with more furious funk.

Revealed today by the label, this time the beats comes courtesy of label co-founder Phace and young gullysmith Signal who last appeared on NEU’s predecessor Neodigital in 2016 on the Eurofunk Volume 2 EP.

Spanning two generations with their shared vision of heavy, uncompromised dark rolling funk, Consonance and Locust see both artists complementing each other’s style and zero-f*ck approach consummately. To put it simply, both cuts are as wily, grubby and breath-taking as you’d expect and they’re set for release on January 26.

With the tracks heralding an electric musical start of the year for both parties, we asked Phace and Signal for their own percy new years resolutions to see how the rest of their lives are shaping up for 2018. Here’s what they came back with…

Phace’s New Years Resolutions

  • Talk more to strangers
  •  Schedule weekly time looking into different paths one can take
  • Go surfing

Signal’s New Years Resolutions

  • Explore the world with friends
  • Be more cautious about how others perceive me and adjust my behaviour accordingly
  • Eat more ramen and pho, that shit’s good.
