Yesterday Skrillex celebrated his 29th birthday in style… By dropping a brand new collaborative track from his old band From First To Last: Make War
Going back to his roots, Skrillex fronted emo crew From First To Last between 2004 – 2007, releasing two albums: Dear Diary, My Teen Angst Has A Bodycount (2004) and Heroine (2006). He left in 2007 to focus on the phenomenon that is his solo career.
Co-writing, producing and on vocals, it’s the band’s first original line-up in over 10 years Make War is every bit as heavy, emotional and energetic as you’d hope. It landed just 24 hours after he dropped this photo on Instagram featuring From First To Last guitarist Matt Good, producer John Feldmann and Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker from Blink-182.
Will 2017 be the year Skrillex returns to his metal roots? Who knows? We’ll be watching closely…
Here’s Make War released collaboratively on OWSLA / Sumerian. Shake away those Monday blues with a short sharp emo shock.
