2015 is shaping up to be a vintage year for the return of 90s scene-shaping titans… First, The Prodigy deliver a rocket fuelled power punch with The Day Is My Enemy. Then Leftfield drop a brand new track from nowhere. There are even rumours of a new Daft Punk album (although they are just unsubstantiated rumours at this stage)
What is definitely NOT a rumour is THIS: The long awaited return of The Chemical Brothers…
Premiered by Annie Mac on BBC Radio 1 last night, The Chemical Brothers – Sometimes I Feel So Deserted came complete with details on the album title (Born In The Echoes) a release date (July 17) and collaborators (Q Tip, Beck and St Vincent)
This follows the band’s announcement last December when they stated that “the most important feature of the album is that it connects with us emotionally in some way” and they “hope for finding a new way to make you feel. We dream of new sounds and different frames.”
That said, with its warm, rolling techy analogue dynamic and purring vocals, Sometimes I Feel So Deserted sounds like classic, timeless Chems to us… Which is definitely no bad thing.
Here’s the pre-order link. Did someone just say ‘shut up and take my money?’
