The Prototypes To Raise Money For NHS With 24-Hour Live Stream

We all love an extended mix session, but it takes a special type of mission to hold it down for a whole 24 hours.

EZ has proved it can be done in true style. Not once, but twice. But in D&B this feat has yet to be done by one act, until now…

On Friday April 17, 7pm UK time, The Prototypes will be commandeering the internet for a full night and day of drum & bass and jungle. The stream will be hosted on D&BTV through their new Locked In concept and the duo are doing it to raise money and awareness of the incredible work the frontline NHS soldiers are doing here in the UK.

‘This is without doubt our biggest challenge to date but one that fills us with pride that we can do something to try and aid the health workers in our country fighting this virus,” state the duo. “We want to try to support them in our own way and let them know they are appreciated for all that they do.”

This certainly beats a hearty doorstep clap. All funds raised will go to the NHS Charities Together which distributes proceeds to all 140 NHS charities across England, Scotland and Wales. Donation details can be found here and the target the guys have set is £2500.

At present Nick White and Chris Garvey have yet to reveal how the show will work between them as a duo who are both respectfully adhering to social distancing guidelines. But we do know they’re already stacking ammo from their forthcoming album Ten Thousand Feet & Rising and they will definitely be digging deep into their collections.

“For us this is the perfect time to dive deep into the tunes and subgenres that we love and that you might not associate with us,” they state in their announcement. “We intend to represent the drum & bass and jungle scene to the fullest and we are honoured to be able to do it. D&B soldiers and junglists stand up.”

Stand up, sit down, do whatever – it’s your house, your lockdown – but make sure you tune in and donate if you are able to. The show takes place on Friday April 17 from 7pm BST on both The Protoypes Facebook page and direct on D&BTV.
