Watch: SaSaSaS – Up Another LVL Documentary

As we reported last month, supersized drum & bass collective SaSaSaS have made a full-length documentary: Up Anther LVL. Premiered on Leicester Square in style on Monday, with a cinema full of family, friends and familiar industry faces, the band have now uploaded it to their website. Viewing is recommended.

You will laugh, you will cry, you will learn some history. You will shout ‘buss it’ on a number of occasions. You will probably have an urge get down a local rave as soon as possible. The documentary, directed by Isaac Reeder and produced by Alex Brawley, captures a pivotal year for SaSaSaS as their turbo-charged show moved further and further up the line-ups to the headline position it current dominates.

An insightful and revealing snapshot of the lives of MCs Stormin, Shabba D, Skibadee, Harry Shotta and DJs Phantasy and Macky Gee, Up Another LVL explains each individuals’ roots and how their paths crossed in the first place. With Stormin now sadly no longer with us, it’s also a very touching snapshot of the band as he continued to tour, perform and joke with band as he fiercely battled cancer (RIP)

An hour well spent: drum & bass doesn’t have many documentaries of this level (yet), this sets a high benchmark and tells a genuinely unique and fascinating story. You can check it directly on their website.
