Who Say Reload: A new book on D&B has been released this week

A brand new book capturing elements of jungle and drum & bass culture’s rich history has landed this week: Who Say Reload.

Written by Paul Terzulli and Eddie Otchere and published by Velocity Press (the same crew behind Knowledge Magazine and recent books such as State Of Bass and Join The Future), Who Say Reload compiles an oral history from the artists themselves, detailing the tales of many of the genre’s most seminal tunes.

The book features inside stories of major tracks that changed the game in the 90s including Metalheadz – Terminator, 4 Hero – Mr Kirk’s Nightmare, Omni Trio – Renegade Snares, Shimon & Andy C – Quest/Nightflight, Krust – Warhead, Bad Company – The Nine, Movving Fusion – Turbulance. This is just the tip of the iceberg as over 40 hugely influential tracks are explored and reloaded by the artists themselves.

“Jungle is the most unique and influential musical movement to come out of England. It’s important that the pioneers get to tell their stories like this. It’s great to see underground legends represented and put on a platform that highlights their contributions to a music genre that has become a worldwide phenomenon.” – Mampi Swift

Complete with chapters and reflections from other scene statesfolk such as Storm, DJ Flight, Fabio, Dazee, AK1200, Basement Phil and Friction, the book captures a whole range of jungle drum & bass influences and contexts through a variety of perspectives. “Jungle is the most unique and influential musical movement to come out of England,” states autor Terzulli. “It’s important that the pioneers get to tell their stories like this. It’s great to see underground legends represented and put on a platform that highlights their contributions to a music genre that has become a worldwide phenomenon.”
