Budapest badman Mindscape will be joining the ranks at Blackout Music in August with a feisty four-track EP: Mindscape – Phantoms.
Ploughing his bass bulldozer through the ever-sprawling neuro landscape, Mindscape continues to build on a sterling strong-arm repertoire that spans 13 years and reads like a who’s who in respected D&B labels: Dispatch, Commercial Suicide, Bad Taste, V and Eat Brain are just a handful of the labels who have backed Mindscape’s broadsword bass over the years, Blackout Music completes his collection… And they do so with all the bullishness we’ve come to know and love from both the label and Mindscape himself.
The EP features four tracks: One Sound (featuring Kryptomedic), The 4th, Phantoms and Bloodhound.
From the icy, spare-glaring pads and gutter-bound bass textures of The 4th to the cinematic drama of Bloodhound, each cut rolls out with teeth-baring menace: Mindscape’s sound design and samplecraft is to be heard to be believed.
