As if the stunning reversions from Dimension and Feed Me weren’t quite enough… Yesterday Deadmau5 took to Twitter and gave away his own beautifully twisted take on one of his most enduring classics – Strobe.
It was actually available to stream on his Soundcloud for a while as ebortS (see what he’s done there?) but disappeared after the whole hacking mess a few months back and has since existed unofficially on YouTube.

Tapping into his passion for ambient textures and rolling with a cool halftime-styled drum arrangement, there are strong elements of Autonomic and deep dub lurking within the beats. Naturally with Deadmau5, this version is so different it’s barely categorises as a remix and is much more of a brand new production… Until you hear those classic Strobe elements breeze into the blend around the breakdown.
