Ones To Watch: Hexa and Parallel

Newcastle’s Hexa and Norwich’s Parallel are long-term collaborators who have quietly built a powerful shared language through a run of deeply considered, heavyweight drum and bass releases. From their joint cut Dystopia’ via Neksus Sound to their latest release ‘Gurner’ on Phase Records, their work leans into dark, rolling pressure, and a clear obsession with atmosphere and system weight.

Between them, their label discography reads like an encyclopedia of the underground’s deepest labels, creating a partnership built consistency rather than hype.

We think the best way to get to know someone is always to look through their music collection. Today, we want to get to know Hexa and Parallel, so we’ve asked them who their ones to watch are for 2026.

KL

Newcastle based KL is definitely one to watch the space of, coming back hard to pushing the beats a few years ago to now a fully striped rig killer, analog sound pushed heavily with a futuristic/sonically colourful twist gives him that stance where when he goes dark it can be pitch black and when he wants to bop it can bopppp.

G Willz

Located in wales, G has ended up interlinking with the crew over the last two years and really nailed in his signature style, he has a load of beats lined up to come with our label, but has some real refreshing stanced rig pounders with the nice vocal flavours and musically structured approach taking him out of that narrow landed honk approach!

Flash

What can we say about flash? Creating beats like that at his age… he definitely has a long standing career within his path of drum and bass, I (Hexa) was receiving dubs off him for a while and sending back long before I found his age out, very excited to see his development blossom

Luyah

Plymouth based, Luyah has been pushing dark and deep beats which show the blend with modern jump up whilst keeping a rolling flow within his tracks. He has been working close with the Wiretrap gang for a good while now and definitely has become a good mate to us

SXN & JXN

Newcastle based lads who have really been pushing some heavy beats recently cranking up the grott to the max. These guys are proper and are definitely pushing their signature sounds
