This week will see Rene LaVice will launch Device; a label that celebrates nothing but primetime, peaktime weapons across the bass spectrum.
“Device is a platform for releasing tracks that really bang. Certified festival heaters that push the boundaries and make the crowd pop,” the BBC Radio 1 presenter explains. “It’s a great home for the collaborations I’ve been doing with other top tier artists within D&B and beyond. The aesthetic and the vibe of the label is meant to push you out of your comfort zone and act as an extension of my attitude toward genre bending and making a statement.”
The label kicks off the Friday March 6 with a rugged timber-felling S.P.Y collaboration entitled Hollywood. It lands just weeks after his impressive Metalheadz debut with Future Cut.
“Hollywood was the first track I made with Device in mind,” says LaVice. “When S.P.Y and myself started making the track, we wanted to create a hybrid style that was as lethal in the club as it was interesting in headphones. And man does this tune go off, it’s a rewind every single time it’s played. I’m really proud of this record so at risk of sounding cocky, Hollywood’s going to be quite an entrance for Device.”
Hollywood is out Friday March 6, pre-order it here. Device was announced by Rene on his social media with a giveaway for a limited edition Device Minirig. Follow him for more details: Facebook / Instagram / Twitter
