Virtual Riot’s Top 5 Remixes

Heads up: This time next week Disciple will be dropping a whole load of re-rub science upside our ears with remix edition of Virtual Riot’s Chemistry.

Already an all-star cast with the collaborative likes of Funtcase, Dubloadz, 12th Planet and ShockOne all on board, the Chemistry remix EP features versions from Downlink, Pegboard Nerds, Oolacile and Ekko & Sidetrack.

We’ve got the Pegboard Nerds remix coming later this week. In the meantime, we shouted out Virtual Riot and asked him for his five all time favourite remixes. He’s picked some absolute gems…

Kill The Noise – Deal With It (KOAN Sound Remix)

It’s always hard to remix a song that doesn’t have a strong lead vocal. KOAN Sound did a great job of remixing this already sick tune by Kill The Noise while still incorporating bass sounds from the original track and turning it into a groovy banger.

Skrillex – Breakin’ A Sweat (Zedd Remix)

I always love it when a remix puts different chords under the original vocal. While the original tune stays mostly in E-Minor, Zedd created a beautiful new chord structure that brings chills down your spine and makes the original vocal a lot more emotional.

Getter – Rip n Dip (Kill The Noise Remix)

I love Kill The Noise’s cinematic intros to a lot his songs and the intro to this remix is absolutely epic. Huge string and trumpet-ensembles lead to a thrilling buildup and a filthy drop.

Ivy Lab – Sunday Crunk (Mefjus Remix)

This remix of Ivy Lab was huge last year. It has such a sick stumbling groove and the sounddesign and mixdown are so on point. I love playing this one out in my sets.

SKiSM – Experts (Barely Alive Remix)

Obviously.
