Dubstep and grime were grown, cultivated and harvested from the same late 90s UK bass seeds… And, while they’ve taken completely different creative directions over the last 10 years, it seems Skrillex & Tempa T could be set to remind us of the two genre’s close-knit affiliations.
There’s not a huge amount to go on here – just a series of images and videos on Tempa T’s Instagram account . Watch two videos below of Skrillex & Tempa T bouncing the studio to two complete contrasting rhythms. The first one shows the pair clearly having fun to a robust, rolling dubstep beat while Tempa chants his classic lyrics of Dickhead Ting. The second shows Tempa and friends playing Skrillex a new album track called Phone.
Tempa T’s album It’s Bait, It’s Bait is scheduled for July. We reckon it could well feature some of Skrillex’s beats. And who knows what the pair have locked down for future collaborative chaos? We’ll keep you posted.
