No particular timeliness or specific reason for picking this track on this precise Thursday, it’s just an absolute Skrillex banger that still kicks ass to this day.
Just a few weeks shy of five years old, Ruffneck was released as part of Skrillex’s More Monsters & Sprites EP. It came in two versions: the deeper Flex cut and this Full Flex version with a heavier drop and those lush pianos that linger right until the bitter end.
With festival season well and truly upon us, it’s time to start digging out heavyweight classics like this and planning the next few months of craziness. Skrillex’s next bout of festival craziness will be at Form festival this weekend. A unique event in the Arizona desert curated and organised by his label buddies Hundred Waters, Skrillex shares the line-up with the likes of Bonobo, Kodak, Ryan Hemsworth and load more. They just gave away a whole album of music from their line-up which you can grab here.
Looking further ahead, Skrillex will be joining us at Sea Dance Festival, Montenegro July 14-16. He’ll be joined by the likes of Andy C, My Nu Leng, Zomboy, Sub Focus and stacks more.
