Drum & Bass Awards 2020: The Winners

Bou clears up with four awards, Rene LaVice wins two awards, Kings Of The Rollers win Best Album, Andy C trumps Voltage and A.M.C in the Best DJ category, Ram win Best Label… All this and plenty more was announced last night, Sunday April 5, at The Drum & Bass Awards.

Taking their usual rave-focused ceremony online due to the current pandemic crisis, it was broadcast on Rough Tempo and hosted by the event founder MC Magika. Delivered with a more sober tone than usual due to the global emergency, the event still included plenty of celebrations as many new winners happily received their trophies via video acceptance clips while the show was topped with exclusive streamed sets from Rene LaVice, Harriet Jaxxon and Horizon.

The event included brand new trophies: Best Crew was won by Problem Central, which was accepted by crew member Logan D, while another new accolade, the Legend Award, was accepted by Congo Natty who sang a few anti-coronavirus bars over Tarantula. Other winners include Mollie Collins winning Best Female Act, Let It Roll with Best International Act, Hybrid Minds winning the Best Alternative Act and MC dons Eksman and Trigga both picking up trophies. Wrapped up with heartfelt acceptance by Lady MC for her Stevie Hyper D Lifetime Achievement Award and some positive troop-rallying words from Magika himself, the Drum & Bass Awards 2020 was a very different affair to previous years but still a success, especially under the current circumstances.

They’ve promised they’ll be back with the full rave-focused awards next year, check all results below and watch the full event, including the mixes from Hariet Jaxxon, Rene LaVice and Horizon, on Rough Tempo Facebook. Congratulations to all the winners!
