All you need to do is buy a $5 lottery ticket (or three for $12) and keep your fingers crossed. If your ticket gets drawn (this Sunday April 6) then you get to choose which item you’d like from the extensive list.

Here’s the story…

“I was watching Comic Relief back in March 2013 and the hard-hitting videos they showed made me realise that in my 22 years I’ve done very little to help those less fortunate and in real need of help,” says EDM District’s Ed Brew, the man behind the project. “It was something of a turning point for me personally and I immediately began brainstorming the best way I could find to raise as much money as possible. The answer I came up with was to mix my passion for music with my determination to raise a meaningful amount of money for charity.”

“The aid Comic and Sport Relief offer and the great diversity of projects they support meant my money would be best placed there. I trust Sport Relief to spend the money wisely and I know it will go where it is needed most. Whether it’s building a school to provide children with an education and a future, or vital healthcare such as vaccinations for remote areas, or offering a clean source of drinking water, I am confident the money will benefit those who really need the help.”

Prior to this current lottery-style campaign, Ed put together a 78 track compilation featuring the likes of Rameses B, Arkasia, Droptek, Felxprod, RoughMath, Feint, TwoThirds, Televisor, T-Mass, Varien, PhaseOne, SirensCeol, PrototypeRaptor, Veela, NCT, Biometrix, Bustre, Muzzy, Subformat, Insan3lik3, Dexcell, Karanda, Elliot Berger, Direct and many more. Juggling the project with his law degree, he found himself entrenched in a mission much larger than he’d ever anticipated. At one point he even broke into a house to make it happen…

“I remember getting a Facebook message from Monstercat’s Mike Darlington quite early on into the project asking if I was available to Skype in the next 5 minutes,” Ed explains. “I was stood outside my friend’s house at the time, waiting for him to get home so I could get in. Not wanting to miss the opportunity, I decided to “break in”. I ended up scaling along my friend’s porch and climbing in through an upstairs window with about 20 seconds to spare. My friend was just appreciative of the potential security breach that I had highlighted and has never left the window open again since!”

The hard work and friendly trespassing have paid off. So far Ed has managed to raise an impressive $7500. And with this new campaign he could raise a whole lot more for people in the world who genuinely need it.

From a passion for music to contributing to life-changing solutions, Every Day Matters commands respect. Get involved and grab yourself a chance to win some seriously exclusively loot in the process.
