Nottingham-born producer Froidy first made his mark in drum & bass, with releases on labels including Crucast and support from BBC Radio 1. More recently, he’s been exploring dubstep, with his latest releases receiving a positive response. With releases on Deadbeats, multiple number ones on Juno Download and the prospect of a US tour on the horizon, he’s building momentum across both sides of the bass music spectrum.
We believe the best way to get to know someone is to look through their record collection, and today we want to get to know Froidy.
Bluff
I can’t remember when I first came across Bluff but everything I hear from him is unreal. His tracks are always proper weighty. I think “Hold on” (which came out recently on Deadbeats) really encapsulates his sound. I’m looking forward to seeing what he comes with in the future. The man is a machine.
Dr. Ushuu
Camden Town was the tune that introduced me to Dr.Ushuu. I have followed him ever since. I love his sound design and high energy basslines. The Track “Let Me” is class. It has a really eerie ambiance to it. If you don’t know about Ushuu then get to know…
Jon Cass
This guy’s made more tunes than I’ve had cigarettes this year. His work rate is exceptional. Always comes with some high quality energy stompers. Expect to see this man in the U.S very soon! JON CASS
Formula
As soon as I found out Formula was making dubstep I knew it was going to be sick. If I’m completely honest I was livid he released that hellkat tune! I selfishly wanted to keep it as a dubplate. It has been a staple of my set ever since I received it.
Aflo
I think I first came across Aflo on TikTok with a bootleg he’d made. Since then he’s carved his own sound within the genre. He’s got some big things coming in the next 12 months so keep your eyes peeled.
Phosphr
Phosphr was one of if not the first artists I collaborated with since switching genres to dubstep. He’s class. Always comes with some dark basslines. Off the back of his UKF on air Live Stream with Modestep Phosphr is another one to keep an eye on for sure.
Sempa
I’ve been following Sempa for some time now. I think his track “Tempah” (Crucast) was the one that drew me in initially. He’s an extremely versatile producer that has smashed many genres such as: Bassline, UKG and dubstep
Jaz Imsky
Jaz has been absolutely killing it this past year. She has a unique style that draws influence from the darker more minimal side of dubstep. There’s a huge influx of female dubstep producers coming through at the moment, and Jaz is at the forefront of the wave. Expect big things from her in 2027.
Axel Boy
Axel Boy’s production is elite. His beats are always so clean and punchy. His sound really pushes the genre in a new direction. Axel Boy’s music spans multiple genres such as UK Bass and Dubstep. Absolute Badman.
Killjoy
This man never fails to amaze me with his sound design. There’s something about his tracks that make me want to run around the room like a big kid. He’s a class act from start to finish. I was lucky enough to get the chance to remix his track “Hellcat” which has been one of my favourite dubstep
