Over four years old and still sounding fresh, this week’s Throwback Thursday comes courtesy from bass A-listers Chase & Status – No Problem.
First premiered on Andy C’s Nightlife 5 mix in October 2010 (the same album which introduced the mighty Wilkinson to our world) Chase & Status – No Problem officially landed January 28 2011 as the lead track on the duo’s gold-selling second album No More Idols. We copped it three days later…
Currently preparing for a summer of dub plate annihilation with Shy FX, Rage and David Rodigan as Rebel Sound and working on new material for the follow up to 2013’s Brand New Machine album, Chase & Status are hard men to pin down… But we managed to squeeze them for a little comment about this moment in time anyway:
It was a big song for us. It was really fun to make and it all felt very fresh and exciting in the studio when it was happening. You work on all these different ideas and every now and again a little bit of magic comes out.
There was nothing else sounding like it at the time. It was a perfect track to start our album with… And our live show. The African character and the visuals became such a strong signature of the show and we’re still amazed at how people react to it. We love playing it.
Who’s the vocalist? His identity will always remain a mystery…
Never worry… That is the way that they roll.
