Tune: Calyx & Teebee – Long Gone
“This track jumped out at me from the first time I heard it. Fantastic Police sounding guitar intro and amazing upright bass sounds; overall a very well made and produced song. How a song works as a whole is something that I look for in tracks and Calyx & Teebee, along with being world class producers, definitely know how to sculpt a rounded song.”
Cookie Monsta
Tune: SKisM & LAXX – Hostile (Eptic Remix)
“I’d have to say my fave right now is Eptic’s remix of Skism & Laxx – Hostile! Such a banger from a babe. The track is a really good twist from the original mix, he’s put his style all over it and it just works. I love that Belgian boy!”
DC Breaks
Tune: Wilkinson – Hopelessly Coping
“A beautifully crafted truly soulful roller from Wilkinson, we’ve had this stuck in our heads for weeks now! Thabo’s amazing vocals sit over lush crisp breaks and warm subby bass and that Northern Soul-esque breakdown makes this a stand out tune for us.”
Diskord
Tune: GANZ – Dino War
“We’ve been FANZ of GANZ for a while now… This track is just so euphoric and just a wall of sound that absolutely kills on a big system. Proof that simplicity is effective. And that 808s and a strong emotional melody are all you need sometimes!”
Etherwood
Tune: Spectrasoul – Shelter (Feat Lily Mckenzie) (VIP)
“I’ve always been a massive fan of these guys. They’re always pushing their sound and it’s refreshing that they don’t seem afraid to step out of the comfort zone. This track really exemplifies that. Lily’s vocal sits beautifully over that dark roaming bass and it’s catchy enough to capture people in and amongst the dance before it drops. Absolute winner! Props to Dave and Jack.”
Hatcha
Tune: Lost – Faded In Beirut
“My track of the month comes courtesy of Hench’s Lost. It’s been in my set for a while now and does the job not matter where I play it, always a great opener or closer.”
Jacob Plant
Tune: JME – Man Don’t Care (feat. Giggs)
“I’ve been listening to JME’s new album on repeat at the moment. I flew back from LA the other day and had it on the whole time. This song stood out to me straight away when I heard it, I love JME’s flow in that first verse.”
Jade Blue
Tune: Leftfield – Universal Everything
“I’ve been a fan of Leftfield for as long as I can remember. ‘Rhythm and Stealth’ was a top album and to find out recently that a new album is imminent, I couldn’t contain my excitement. Here is Universal Everything from the new album Alternative Light Source which is due for release early June. A lot of JB love for this one.”
June Miller
Tune: Kimyan Law – Lavish
“Kimyan Law’s debut album on Blu Mar Ten’s label blew us away. It was the creativity and reluctancy to fit into one sound that pulled us in. This track also does the same, and is a true winner.”
Lynx
Tune: Hudson Mohawke (Feat Irfane) – Very First Breath
“I have always been a huge fan of Hudson Mohawke’s music. Very First Breath is certainly a more commercial approach to his music than before, however it still has his huge trademark wonky kicks and snares. The vocal is just so catchy in this tune too. The way the vocals and persistent synths interact gives me goosebumpy. I’m really looking forward to his album Lanterns now…”
Pylot
Tune: Surodansu – Strangers

“The sound design, chords and melodies help deliver a great atmosphere in this track. The slow and gradual build up into the heavier and distorted parts made this track stand out to me. It’s been on repeat over the last few days.”
