6 Of The Best: Drumsound & Bassline Smith’s Top Sunset Tracks

Second only to that life-affirming victory of entering the festival after a long queue and epic drive… Few feelings beats that first sunset of a festival.

The whole night or weekend is ahead of you, you can see all your crew getting into the vibe, you can feel your every bone beginning to relax and – if the festival has booked the right DJs and arranged the schedule properly – an on-point selector ushering in the nocturnal chapter.

The best selectors can play all slots in all weathers; they can wake up jaded soggy Sunday crowds, they can lay the thundering Saturday night smack down and they can tailor a tangerine sunset with the perfect pensive, feel-heavy vibes. Selectors like Drumsound & Bassline Smith.

They’ve just released Technique Summer 2016 which is loaded with more than its fair share of sunset vibes so we asked the trio for their own percy dusk-damaging favourites. They did not disappoint…

Marky & S.P.Y – Mystic Sunset

Aptly named for sure, totally delivers too. Brilliant, uplifting roller from the boys from Brazil. Always ready for selection for those sunset and sunrise sets.

Adam F – Circles

Encompassing the true feeling of drum & bass….You can dance to this and you can chill to it. Perfect track to see the sun setting on the distance.

FSOL – Papua New Guinea (High Contrast remix)

Love the original to death and this mix really keeps the vibe of the original and the 2nd breakdown makes the hairs on your arms stand on end. Beautiful.

High Contrast – Return Of Forever

A masterpiece that never seems to age… Euphoric, uplifting and emotional.

The Chemical Brothers – The Test

Huge fan of these guys and this is always my go to, standout track. There’s a magical, mystical connection with it that I can’t quite put my finger on. I do know, however, that it’ll make the perfect soundtrack to any, epic sunset.

Drumsound & Bassline Smith – I Need Somebody

Nice blend of old skool and nu-skool power liquid to give you energy whilst still maintaining the summer vibe.
