Friendly Fire : Denham Audio, Killjoy and Mincy

There’s a particular kind of chemistry that only happens when producers who genuinely rate each other lock into the same frequency. Not the major-manufactured kind, not the algorithm-approved link-up, but shared instincts and overlapping influences.

Make way for ‘Sprayin’ / ‘Forward’, the new collaborative double EP from Denham Audio, Killjoy and Mincy. Moving between UKG swing, rolling 4×4 pressure and heads-down-hand-high energy. ‘Sprayin’ lands all sharp claps and elastic synth work, while ‘Forward’ dives deeper into hypnotic late-night territory.

In the name of this release, we asked each artist to pick their favourite tracks and mixes from one another’s catalogues, a snapshot mutual respect and pure vibes behind one of the link-up.

DENHAM AUDIO’S FAVES
Mincy Mix – Mode Festival 2025

It’s a solid near 3 hour journey that covers all spectrums of dance music and a great example of Ash’s music tastes.

Killjoy Track: Killjoy – DQ1 – Gud Money (Killjoy 4×4 refix)

I remember playing this the first time I played fabric and going absolutely off, proper wobby roller.

MINCY’S FAVES
Killjo Mix – RinseFM Bassline Takeover – Marcus Nasty 28/01/17

Heading deep into the archives for this one, but still my favourite of Killjoy’s mixes. Marcus Nasty did a marathon bassline takeover on Rinse FM back in 2017 of all the major producers in the genre at that point, I think it was 12 hours straight from memory. Killjoy delivered an absolute masterclass of all the classics around that period, sprinkled pretty heavily with his own dubs that were super exclusive at that point.

Denham Audio Track: Coco x Denham Audio – 0114

First heard this tune when I ended up at a production workshop Peri did in Bristol a couple years back. He was running through some demos he had cooking and he played this one. Been obsessed with it ever since, and the addition of Coco just seals the deal.

KILLJOY’S FAVES:
Denham Audio Mix – Dayshift (April ’24)

Had the pleasure of witnessing this one going from peak low swung UK bass heat all the way to Wigan pier dodgem car crime scene magnificently. Take me back!

Mincy Track – Say No to Yes

Pure unadulterated Mincy style banger! With rippin’ warps and catchy donk-esque leads this one’s taken my sets from 4×4 garage all the way up to footwork with pure energy.
