Halogenix announces departure from Ivy Lab with new Critical EP

Following the heat of two exceptional EPs last year on 1985 and Critical, Laurence Reading returns this May with his largest Halogenix document to date. Eight tracks deep, with an album on the bake in the background, it marks the start of a brand new solo chapter for the London artist…

“After five incredible years, I have decided to hang up my Ivy Lab hat to focus on my output as Halogenix,” he explains. “We have learned and grown so much together, not only as musicians, but as people. We made music that we are all extremely proud of, threw some of the most incredible parties, run a dope label and toured the world… It’s been a tough decision to make and I’m really excited for what the future holds.”

The move provides Halogenix with the ability to focus exclusively on his solo output which, amassing support from some of the most elite taste-makers across the dance music spectrum, set the benchmark high in 2017 with Drum&BassArena award-nominated Blej, Broken (with Alix Perez) and the silky-smooth half-time VIP of his 2014 liquid anthem Her Waves to name a few.

In terms of what we can expect, Laurence – who recently returned from Iceland where he collaborated with The Upbeats on their No Sleep Till project – hints at the unexpected…

“I’ve already got an eight-tracker lined up for release towards the end of May on Critical and I’ve started working on my debut LP proper too,” he reveals. “Expectations wise, I’m just really enjoying writing at the moment. All styles and tempos included from rowdy dance-floor drum & bass, swagged out bass-line dominated beats, sultry vocal laden slow-jams and everything in between. I just want to say thanks for all the continuing support, I can’t wait to share all this music with you, and see you in the dance!”

A new chapter for Halogenix starts right here. Follow him for further updates:
