Top 10: European Festivals 2016

Sick of camping out in a muddy, damp tent all weekend? Or maybe you’re fortunate enough to live somewhere that isn’t as soggy as Britain?

Either way – there’s a whole host of sick festivals across Europe. Spanning the broad spectrum of electronic music, there’s something here to satisfy even the fussiest of bass enthusiasts.

Here are 10 of the best European festivals: Time to book those days off work…

Sea Dance Festival

Where: Montenegro

When: 14-16 July

How Much: Around £90

Info / Facebook

This one’s going to be big… Run by the same team behind Exit Festival, Sea Dance has smashed it for the past two years, with this year looking to be even better than before. We’re back on the award winning Jaz beach with Sea Dance and we’re bringing some of the biggest names possible… Skrillex Andy C, Sub Focus, My Nu Leng and Zomboy.

Hideout

Where: Novalja, Croatia

When: 26-30 June

How Much: £139

Info

Located on the sun-drenched Island of the now legendary Croatian island Pag… one of the earliest Croatian islands to host these type of events. It’s not just the weather that’s beautiful. This year’s lineup includes an impressive roster: Jamie xx, Andy C, Skepta, Gorgon City, Stormzy, Skream, Eats Everything, Zinc and loads more!

Exit

Where: Novi Sad, Serbia

When: 7-10 July

How Much: From £86

Info

No newcomer to the festival scene, Exit is back this year for its 17th event, and it’s looking better than ever. Its prime setting of the Novi Sad Fortress provides the perfect backdrop for an equally enticing line-up that stretches across every genre imaginable. For us bass heads this includes Andy C, Modestep, DJ Hype, Zomboy, Sigma, Teddy Killerz, Sub Zero, Ivy Lab, Rene Lavice and Shlohmo just to name a few.

Let It Roll

Where: Near Prague, Czech Republic

When: 28-31 July

How Much: From £50

Info

One for the D&B disciples: Let It Roll is THE biggest drum and bass festival on earth. Covering all sub-genres and styles – and set in an eye-popping highly produced backdrop, Let It Roll is packing a laundry list of big names like Pendulum, Culture Shock, Audio and over 200 more. Yeah, 200. For D&B fans this is a must.

Outlook

Where: Pula, Croatia

When: 31 August -5 September

How Much: £138

Info

Here’s one of the more diverse offerings. Running for five days on the beautiful Croatian coastline, Outlook sees a whole array of big names from a handful of different genres come together for one huge party. This year plays host to such artists as Noisia, Goldie, Andy C and Damian Marley. Also it takes place in an Abandoned Fort. If that hasn’t convinced you, nothing will…

Dimensions

Where: Pula, Croatia

When: 24-29 August

How Much: £148

Info

Strangely enough, this one’s also in Croatia. Acting as a sort of Sister festival to Outlook, Dimensions showcases a bit more of an underground, left-sided look at electronic music. This year plays host to such names as Massive Attack, Mala, dBridge, Alix Perez, Om Unit, Calibre, Fracture and Sam Binga.

Dour

Massive.

Insane Festival

Bit of a smaller one this…but don’t underestimate it. Insane Festival combines indoor and outdoor spaces with state of the art visuals and a range of talented names including Pendulum, Spag Heddy, Dimension, High Contrast, The Clamps and NVOY.

TheSoundYouNeed Festival
